Whistle & Wag Referral Distribution Channel
Terms and Conditions (Effective date: 1 November 2026, Version: 2.0)
1. Overview
These terms explain how the Whistle & Wag referral distribution channel works, who may participate, when
rewards are earned, and the rules that apply to use of referral links, referral dashboards and related services.
The terms are divided into two parts:
- Part A: Key Conditions, which summarise the eligibility criteria and reward rules for Referrers and Referred Customers.
- Part B: Full Terms and Conditions, which set out the detailed contractual terms for taking part in the referral programme.
By using a Whistle & Wag referral link, sending a referral, purchasing a qualifying policy through the
programme, or otherwise taking part in the programme, you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, you
must not participate.

3. Referrer eligibility and reward
- A Referrer may receive one Reward for each Successful Referral, subject to these terms and the Programme limits.
- To take part as a Referrer, you must be aged 18 or over, resident in the United Kingdom, and hold an active Whistle & Wag policy at the time of referral and when the Reward becomes payable, unless Whistle & Wag has agreed different eligibility criteria in writing for an approved distribution partner campaign.
- The Referred Customer must buy a Qualifying Policy using the Referrer's unique referral link and must satisfy the payment conditions in section 5.
- A Referrer may not receive more than 20 Rewards in any rolling 12-month period. Once this cap is reached, Whistle & Wag is not required to issue further Rewards for additional referrals during that period.
- Only one Reward is available per Successful Referral, even where that Referred Customer buys more than one policy.
- Rewards are personal to the Referrer and cannot be transferred, sold, exchanged or assigned.
4. Referred Customer eligibility and reward
- A Referred Customer may receive one Reward when they meet the conditions in these terms.
- To qualify, the Referred Customer must be aged 18 or over, resident in the United Kingdom, and a first-time Whistle & Wag customer.
- The Referred Customer must not be the same person as the Referrer and must not use a duplicate, alias or alternative contact method to appear as a new customer.
- Only one Reward is available per new customer, even where that customer buys more than one policy.
- The Referred Customer must purchase a Qualifying Policy directly through the Referrer's unique referral link.
- The Referred Customer may not be eligible for the Reward if your Referrer has exceeded the limit on multiple referrals set out in these terms.
5. Payment conditions
- Both the Referrer and Referred Customer will become eligible for their Reward only after the Referred Customer has made three consecutive premium payments from the start date of the Qualifying Policy.
- The Qualifying Policy must remain active when the third consecutive premium payment is made, and all premiums then due must be paid and up to date.
- Whistle & Wag may withhold or cancel a Reward if the Qualifying Policy is cancelled, voided, reversed, refunded, unpaid, suspected to be fraudulent, or otherwise fails to meet the requirements of these terms.
- Reward fulfilment emails will normally be sent within 14 days after the third qualifying premium payment has been received and validated.
6. Excluded channels
- A purchase will not qualify if it is completed through, attributed to, or recorded as coming from an aggregator, affiliate, cashback, voucher, incentive, comparison or other third-party channel, unless Whistle & Wag has expressly confirmed in writing that the channel is eligible.
- By way of example, policies bought through price comparison websites are not Qualifying Policies for the purposes of this Programme.
- Where a prospective customer visits an aggregator or affiliate channel and then purchases from Whistle & Wag within a period in which the sale is attributed to that channel, the purchase may not qualify for a Reward. To reduce this risk, the Referred Customer should use the Referrer's unique referral link as their sole route to the Whistle & Wag purchase journey.
7. Communications and privacy notice for referrals
- The Referrer is responsible for ensuring that any person they refer is personally known to them and is happy to receive the referral communication.
- When a Referred Customer meets the Reward conditions, Whistle & Wag may notify the Referrer that a referral has qualified. That notification will not identify the Referred Customer by name or disclose their personal data, unless the Referred Customer has separately agreed to that disclosure.
- Personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Promoter and contact details

Part B: Full Terms and Conditions
9. About these terms
- These terms apply to every person who participates in the Programme, including Referrers, Referred Customers and any other person accessing a referral page, referral dashboard or related service.
- The Programme is a promotional referral arrangement. It is not an employment, agency, partnership, introducer appointed representative or regulated intermediary appointment, unless Whistle & Wag has signed a separate written agreement expressly stating otherwise.
- Participation is voluntary and is subject to applicable law, regulation, eligibility checks, fraud screening and these terms.
- Whistle & Wag may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to a participant is the version available when the relevant referral activity takes place (i.e. when the Qualifying Policy is purchased), unless the law requires otherwise.
- Where Whistle & Wag publishes campaign-specific rules, landing page terms, partner terms or reward details, those rules apply alongside these terms. If there is a conflict, the campaign-specific rules will apply only to the extent of the conflict.
10. Access to referral services
- Whistle & Wag may provide referral links, landing pages, tracking tools, dashboards, emails, fulfilment tools and other technology used to operate the Programme.
- Participants must provide accurate, complete and non-misleading information when using the Programme.
- Participants are responsible for maintaining their own devices, software, internet access and security settings needed to use the Programme.
- Whistle & Wag does not charge participants a fee to access the Programme.
- Whistle & Wag may suspend, restrict or withdraw access to all or part of the Programme where it reasonably considers this necessary to protect customers, prevent misuse, comply with law or regulation, maintain security, or protect the proper operation of the Programme.
11. Participant conduct
- Participants must not use the Programme:
- for unlawful, misleading, abusive, harmful or fraudulent purposes;
- to misrepresent their identity, relationship with Whistle & Wag, entitlement to refer, or eligibility for a Reward;
- to interfere with, damage, overload, disrupt, reverse engineer or compromise Whistle & Wag systems, referral pages or tracking technology;
- to access or attempt to access another person's account, referral link or dashboard;
- to generate referrals through automated methods, bots, scripts, paid traffic, misleading advertising, public voucher sites, mass marketing, spam, scraping or similar activity;
- to promote the Programme on websites, forums, blogs, social media accounts or online communities that exist primarily to generate referral income, discounts, cashback or other incentives, unless Whistle & Wag has approved this in writing;
- in a way that could harm Whistle & Wag, its customers, its insurers, its partners, or the reputation of the Programme.
- Whistle & Wag may reject a referral, close a referral account, remove access to a dashboard, withhold Rewards, claw back Rewards or take other reasonable steps where it suspects breach, manipulation, gaming, duplicate activity, fraud, regulatory risk or misuse of the Programme.
12. Referral communications
- A Referrer must only send a referral to someone they personally know or to someone they have a legitimate reason to contact.
- Where reasonably practicable, the Referrer should obtain the recipient's permission before sending a referral communication.
- The Referrer is the sender of any personal referral message they choose to send. The Referrer must comply with applicable rules on marketing, privacy and electronic communications.
- Referral links must not be used for bulk distribution, unsolicited commercial communications, paid advertisements, lead generation, public discount listing, or any message that could reasonably be treated as spam.
- The Referrer must not claim to be authorised to give insurance advice, make regulated recommendations, bind cover, negotiate insurance contracts, alter policy terms, deal with claims, or act on behalf of Whistle & Wag unless they have separate written authority to do so.
- The Referrer must not make statements about Whistle & Wag products, pricing, eligibility, cover, exclusions or claims handling that are inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, unfair or inconsistent with Whistle & Wag's official customer communications.
13. Qualifying Policy requirements
- A Referred Customer must purchase a Qualifying Policy via the approved referral journey.
- A policy will not be a Qualifying Policy if the customer was previously a Whistle & Wag customer, was already in an active sales journey before using the referral link, used an excluded channel, failed eligibility checks, cancelled before satisfying the payment conditions, or otherwise failed to meet these terms.
- Whistle & Wag's referral tracking records will be used to determine whether a purchase was made through the referral journey, subject to any correction Whistle & Wag reasonably considers necessary to address obvious technical error, fraud or misuse.
- A referral link does not guarantee that Whistle & Wag will offer insurance, accept a customer, provide a particular premium, or issue a policy. Insurance remains subject to underwriting, eligibility criteria, policy terms and applicable law.
14. Rewards
- The standard Reward is a £20 cash reward for each eligible Referrer and each eligible Referred Customer, unless Whistle & Wag publishes a different reward for a particular campaign.
- Rewards are earned only when all conditions in these terms have been met and verified by Whistle & Wag or its fulfilment provider.
- Whistle & Wag may use third-party fulfilment providers to issue Rewards. Participants may need to follow reasonable instructions in the Reward fulfilment email to claim or receive the Reward.
- Rewards are promotional benefits. They are not interest, premium refunds, wages, commission, regulated remuneration or consideration for insurance advice.
- No alternative reward, substitute or additional compensation is available unless Whistle & Wag chooses to offer one.
- Participants are responsible for any tax consequences arising from receipt of a Reward.
- Whistle & Wag is not responsible for a Reward being delayed, lost, declined or undeliverable because a participant provided inaccurate contact details, failed to follow fulfilment instructions, breached these terms, or failed to keep their email account available.
15. Fraud prevention and misuse
- Whistle & Wag may take reasonable steps to detect and prevent fraud, misuse, self-referrals, duplicate accounts, false identities, artificial transactions, channel manipulation, incentive abuse and attempts to circumvent these terms.
- Those steps may include checking referral activity, policy data, payment status, contact details, device or technical information, publicly available information and information provided by fulfilment or technology suppliers, in accordance with the privacy policy and applicable law.
- Whistle & Wag may reject or cancel Rewards where it reasonably believes that referral activity is not genuine, has been generated for commercial exploitation, or is inconsistent with the purpose of the Programme.
- The Programme is intended for genuine personal referrals and approved distribution activity only. It must not be used as an unauthorised commercial referral business or lead-generation scheme.
16. Data protection
- Whistle & Wag will process personal data collected in connection with the Programme for purposes including operating the Programme, tracking referrals, verifying eligibility, issuing Rewards, preventing fraud, handling support queries, complying with law and improving the Programme.
- Personal data may include names, contact details, referral identifiers, policy status, payment status, technical information and information needed to verify Reward eligibility.
- Personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Participants should read that privacy policy before taking part.
- Whistle & Wag does not knowingly invite children to participate in the Programme. A person under 18 must not use the Programme or provide personal data through it.
- Support queries may be handled by secure tools, automated systems, AI-enabled tools and trained support agents. Participants should not include sensitive information such as government identity documents, medical information, full payment card details or unnecessary personal information in referral support messages.
- Where third-party suppliers help operate referral tracking, dashboards, communications or Reward fulfilment, Whistle & Wag will use them in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
17. Websites, links and technology
- Referral pages, dashboards and supporting systems may be hosted or operated by Whistle & Wag or its suppliers.
- Whistle & Wag does not guarantee that the Programme will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, free of viruses or compatible with every device or browser.
- Participants must not knowingly introduce viruses, malware, harmful code or other technologically harmful material into Whistle & Wag systems.
- The Programme may include links to third-party websites. Whistle & Wag is not responsible for the content, availability, privacy practices or security of third-party websites that it does not control.
- Participants should make their own assessment before using third-party websites or purchasing products or services through them.
18. Intellectual property
- All intellectual property rights in the Programme, referral pages, dashboards, content, branding, technology, materials and related systems belong to Whistle & Wag, its group companies, licensors or suppliers.
- Participants receive only a limited, revocable, non-transferable permission to use the referral materials for the purpose of participating in the Programme in accordance with these terms.
- Participants must not copy, adapt, distribute, sell, sublicense, misrepresent or misuse Whistle & Wag materials, branding or referral technology except as expressly permitted by these terms or by Whistle & Wag in writing.
- Any feedback, suggestions, ideas or comments provided to Whistle & Wag about the Programme may be used by Whistle & Wag without restriction and without compensation, provided Whistle & Wag does not use personal data except in accordance with its privacy policy.
19. Changes, suspension and withdrawal
- Whistle & Wag may vary, suspend, limit or withdraw the Programme, any campaign, any Reward, or any participant's access to the Programme at any time where it reasonably considers this necessary or appropriate.
- Where a Reward has already been validly earned before the effective date of a change or withdrawal, Whistle & Wag will honour that Reward unless these terms allow it to be withheld, cancelled or clawed back.
- Whistle & Wag may correct obvious errors in programme materials, landing pages, reward amounts, eligibility criteria or communications.
20. Liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
- Subject to section 20.1, Whistle & Wag will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, reputational damage, or loss arising from a participant's failure to comply with these terms.
- Whistle & Wag is not responsible for losses caused by events outside its reasonable control, third-party platforms, participant error, unavailable systems, inaccurate contact details, or technical issues that prevent referral tracking, except where the law provides otherwise.
- Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights a consumer may have.
21. General
- Participants may not transfer their rights or obligations under these terms to anyone else.
- Whistle & Wag may transfer, assign, subcontract or delegate its rights and obligations under these terms, provided this does not materially reduce consumer protections required by law.
- A person who is not a party to these terms has no right to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
- If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be treated as removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining terms will continue to apply.
- Any failure or delay by Whistle & Wag in enforcing these terms does not prevent Whistle & Wag from enforcing them later.
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these terms, except where applicable consumer law provides otherwise.
